How would you describe your style?
Stylish, Unique, Feminine, Elegant with a touch of Chameleon dressing.
What are three essential items in your wardrobe?
This one is hard, as I love so many pieces and see a need for all of them. It depends on the seasons too.
Summer 🌸
Denim shorts, a comfy sandal and some cool sunnies 😎
Winter ❄️
A colourful jumper that lifts the skin tone, converse high tops and a comfy high waisted, wide-leg jean.
Is there anything you’d never wear?
Bike pants with a mid-drift lycra top and chunky sneakers, it’s not a vibe people…
What is your fragrance of choice?
I have sooo many, I have a sniffer dog sense of smell so it’s got to be a more natural smell, I love earthy notes of wood and spice.
My favourite Fragrance I’m wearing now is Miller et Bertaux green, green, green and green.
Is there a current fashion trend you like?
I love that sneakers can be worn with anything. I don’t really do fashion trends, I look for pieces that I feel great in and are versatile through seasons.
What shoes do you most often wear?
I bought a chunky black sandal from La Tribe and I just love them.
What’s your favourite off-duty, casual Sunday look?
This one is tricky as I now live on acreage and if I am not in my gardening clothes with gumboots, my go-to is a flowy dress with a sandal or slouchy pants and a T-shirt.
Hi Cara, tell us a bit about yourself?
Hi, I’m Cara! I’m a Melbournian through and through, but love exploring the world. I’m an ex-researcher who now works to evaluate the impact of health promotion initiatives. I’m a mother of two toddlers. I’m also a sometimes instagrammer (depending on how the work/mum situation is going that day!)
How would you describe your style?
Colourful! I also love a good print and am usually found in a bold printed piece pared back with a block colour.
What are three essential items in your wardrobe?
Ooh, this is a hard one. I’d have to say jeans as they go with everything, merino knits for layering (Melbourne weather) and a printed statement piece to go with them.
Is there anything you’d never wear?
Crocs. I cannot stand them and will never be convinced otherwise.
What is your fragrance of choice?
I actually don’t wear perfumes as they can give me headaches, but I love the smell of citrus in an oil burner or hand wash.
Is there a current fashion trend you like?
Green! It seems to be the colour of the moment, but has always been my favourite colour to wear.
What shoes do you most often wear?
Although the collection in my closet would tell you I wear heels a lot, the shoes I actually wear most are my sandals from @menorcasandals. They’re perfect for mum life and work from home, and they take me from spring through to autumn before switching to boots.
What’s your favourite off-duty, casual Sunday look?
Jeans and a nice colourful/printed top – always a winner.
Hi Emily, tell us a bit about yourself?
I am a personal stylist focusing on ethical and sustainable fashion for my own business, Conscious Garment. I have a serious love for sustainable Australian made clothing, second-hand fashion and have a keen eye for op shopping. Day-to-day I work full time in fashion for a Melbourne ethical clothing brand. Basically I live and breathe fashion and I absolutely love it!
How would you describe your style?
Colourful and bold, with an understated edge. I love combining colour and pattern and bending conventional ‘rules’ on what you should and shouldn’t wear.
What are three essential items in your wardrobe?
A good pair of jeans, a cross body bag and statement earrings all year round. Two out of three of these are accessories but I really use accessories to change up outfits more than individual items of clothing doing the talking. I like bold items but also more understated pieces so I can let the accessories shine.
Is there anything you’d never wear?
I would never wear Uggs outside of the house, even the more ‘shoe’ style Uggs. They are slippers for a reason and should only be worn as inside shoes. No judgement to anyone who does but you will never see me wear posing for an #ootd in Uggs, haha.
What is your fragrance of choice?
Ooh can I have two? My daily go-to is Marrakech Intense from Aesop, and when I am feeling a little more bougie I go for my Santal 33 by Le Labo. They make me feel fierce and I love them equally!
Is there a current fashion trend you like?
I am loving the chunky brogue trend for this season. You don’t need to buy the original Prada brogues that the trend is based off, there are so many other alternative brands where you can get the look. I have my eye on a pair from ethical Melbourne brand Post Sole Studio, they are on my wish list! In saying that, I love following trends and I find it fascinating what takes off and why, but I don’t necessarily buy into all of them. It is just fun to follow along at times, see what brands make their own versions and to see what all the fuss is about. I can be pretty easily influenced though!
What shoes do you most often wear?
Ooh that is a tough one, I love wearing sneakers for comfort and for an effortless look, but I also love wearing boots in winter mainly for warmth. I love a chunky sandal for Summer too and now I want a pair of chunky brogues… basically I love all shoes and I have many different types that I wear all the time. My newest addition to the shoe-drobe are my Adventure Awaits slip on clog from Radical Yes which has been getting a real workout of late.
What’s your favourite off-duty, casual Sunday look?
Sundays are my day when I collapse into a heap after a busy week and so I try not to plan too much. I love a comfy matching tracksuit moment for lounging around the house and a walk to get coffee. If I need to step up my look a little, I can’t go past a blazer paired with a track pant and sneakers, or with my new favourite combo, crocs and socks, ha! I love feeling comfortable and stylish!
