We chat with a bunch of busy mums in the lead up to Mother’s Day this year and learn how they balance their busy lives as well as what they love about being a creative mum.
Introduce yourself!
I’m Qew (pronounced like the letter Q), if you follow me on insta I am also known as @electriclovers
When was your first Mother’s Day and what do you remember most about it?
Oh my gosh! 10 years ago was my first Mother’s Day and I remember it clearly as my daughter was 3 weeks old and I was EXHAUSTED and not really in the mood to celebrate. I remember over-committing to family and vowed to do never do that again. HA!
What would be your ideal Mother’s Day this year?
We will be in Uluru on a family adventure, I am just SO EXCITED to travel and be in such a beautiful place with my Husband and Daughter.

What’s your favourite way to wind down at the end of a busy day from being a mum AND an all-around superstar business lady!?
Look, to be honest, it’s a cup of tea in bed and a few episodes of Real Housewives. BLISS!
What have been the major changes and challenges of becoming a mum while also balancing a busy work life?
I definitely think the expectations I put on myself, I was so busy and stressed and not really coping. Trying to do it all. I didn’t know any better at the time but now realize it’s a marathon, not a sprint and it’s ok to slow down, I also removed the words “I am so busy” from my vocab- life-changing!
What is your favourite creative pastime to do with your kids?
HA! After lockdown last year I am a little burnt out on the creative activities, maybe ask me in another year! But being in the garden with my daughter is really nice, picking some of our tomatoes and preparing them for dinner. Not exactly creative but slow and grounding for sure.
How would you describe your style?
Electric. High energy. Colour. Prints.
Has this changed since becoming a Mum? If so how?
Mmm, not really. I think it has more just evolved with age? I mean, I could never wear a pair of high heels again. Torture.
What’s your favourite W+M piece?
I love love love the Lottie Dress in the Rock Pool print. I love the colours + print as well as how versatile it is to layer.
